For the book store, it is a discreet graph. Every book is a case by itself, no event is dependent on the other. So now variable is dependent on another.
The swimming pool case, the time is the independent variable in the function where the water volume changes with respect to time. So it it has a continuous graph.

Hope this helps.

Answer:

The snow from each event melts off before the next accumulation and no snow is on the ground at your scheduled time of observation. The total snowfall for that reporting 24-hour day is the sum of the three separate snow squalls, 6.7 inches, even though the snow depth on your board at observation time was zero. A salesperson receives a 3% commission on sales the salesperson receives 180$ in commission what is the amount of sales
SVEN [57.7K]
This problem can simply be expressed in an equation. Let's say that x is the amount of sales that is being looked for here. So our equation will be 0.03x = 180. So to put it simply, the amount of sales (x) has to be multiplied by 0.03 in order to get 180. So to solve for x, all we have to do now is divide 180 by 0.03. If we do that, we will be able to get a final answer of 6,000. So we can conclude that the total amount of sales received by the salesperson is 6,000.
