PLEASE HELP!! ASAP NOWWWW Two races that a student runs every year are the 1492-mile race in his hometown and the -meter race
Softa [21]

Answer:

College town race is 31% of the home town race.

Step-by-step explanation:

Length of hometown race = 3 miles

Length of college town race = 1492 meters

Since 1 meter = 0.0006214 miles

Therefore, 1492 = 0.93 miles

Percentage of college town race to the hometown race,

= \frac{\text{College town race}}{\text{Home town race}}\times 100

= \frac{0.93}{3}\times 100

= 31%

Therefore, the college town race is 31% of the home town race.

At the movies, we had 286 people buy tickets. The adult tickets
Whitepunk [10]

Answer:

103 adults and 183 kids have attended.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here is the complete question: At the movies, we had 286 people buy tickets. The adult tickets were $12 and the children´s tickets were $4. The total sold was $1968. How many adults and kids attended?

Given: Total ticket sold is 286

           Cost of each adult ticket is $12

           Cost of each kids tickets is $4

           Cost of total ticket sold is $1968.

Lets assume the number of tickets adult bought be "x".

∴ Ticket bought for kids is (286-x)

Now, putting the values in an equation to find the number of ticket bought by adult.

We know, Total\ cost= cost\ of\ each\ tickets\times number\ of\ tickets

⇒ \$ 1968= \$12\times x+ \$ 4\times (286-x)

Using distributive property of multiplication, distributing 4 with 286 and x.

⇒ \$ 1968= \$12x+ \$ 1144- \$ 4x

Subtracting 1144 both side.

⇒ \$ 824= 8x

dividing both side by 8

∴ x= \frac{824}{8} = 103

Hence, 103 Adults attended.

Next, subtituting the value of x to find the tickets bought for kids.

Number of tickets bought for kids= 286-103= 183\ tickets

Hence, 183 kids have attended.

Below is a boxplot of time students spent exercising per week. What is a realistic mean and median for the distribution in this
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

Mean=6

and Median=7

Step-by-step explanation:

Clearly from the box-plot we could observe that:

Least value=1

First quartile i.e. Q_1=5

Second quartile i.e. Median i.e. Q_2=7

Third quartile i.e. Q_3=8

Maximum value=10

Hence, we have:

Median=7

We calculate the mean from the box and whisker plot by :

finding  the average of:  Least value, Maximum value, First quartile (i.e. Q_1) , Second quartile i.e. Median ( i.e. Q_2 ) and the third quartile ( i.e. Q_3 )

i.e.

Mean=\dfrac{1+5+7+8+10}{5}\\\\Mean=\dfrac{31}{5}\\\\Mean=6.2

which is approximately given to be 6.

Hence, Mean=6

Median=7
