Worker A finishes the job in 10 hours; worker B finishes it in 12 hours, and worker C finishes it in 15 hours.
nika2105 [10]
A=1/10, b=1/12, c=1/15  (these are the rates for each worker...)

1.)

2(1/10)+4(1/12)+t/15=1

1/5+1/3+t/15=1

(3+5+t)/15=1

3+5+t=15

8+t=15

t=7

So it would take c 7 hours to finish the job.

2.)

1/40-1/60

(3-2)/120

1/120

The drain rate is 1/60.  So you will need to find t when the tank is empty, while starting at 2/3 capacity...

2/3-t/60=0

(40-t)/60=0

40-t=0

t=40

It would take 40 minutes to empty the tank when it is 2/3 full.

Fiona wrote the linear equation y = y equals StartFraction 2 over 5 EndFraction x minus 5.x – 5. When Henry wrote his equation,
xeze [42]

Answer:

D. x-\frac{5}{2}y =  \frac{25}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

y = \frac{2}{5}x - 5

Required

Determine its equivalent

<em>From the list of given options, the correct answer is</em>

x - \frac{5}{2}y = \frac{25}{2}

This is shown as follows;

y = \frac{2}{5}x - 5

Multiply both sides by \frac{5}{2}

\frac{5}{2} * y = \frac{5}{2} * (\frac{2}{5}x - 5)

Open Bracket

\frac{5}{2} * y = \frac{5}{2} * \frac{2}{5}x - \frac{5}{2} *5

\frac{5}{2}y = x - \frac{25}{2}

Subtract x from both sides

\frac{5}{2}y - x = x -x - \frac{25}{2}

\frac{5}{2}y - x = - \frac{25}{2}

Multiply both sides by -1

-1 * \frac{5}{2}y - x * -1 = - \frac{25}{2} * -1

-\frac{5}{2}y + x =  \frac{25}{2}

Reorder

x-\frac{5}{2}y =  \frac{25}{2}

<em>Hence, the correct option is D</em>

x-\frac{5}{2}y =  \frac{25}{2}

Polynomial 5x^5-9x^3+2x^11+6
tresset_1 [31]
<span>So we have a polynomial 5x^5-9x^3+2x^11+6 and we are wondering what is its degree, leading coefficient, number term and the constant term. The degree of a polynomial is its highest power so here that is 11. Leading coefficient is the term with the highest degree of a polynomial and here thats 2. Number of terms is 4 because that many numbers are in this polynomial and the constant term is 6 beccause it is a constant. </span>
