Y =1/3x - 1 so slope = 1/3
if <span>perpendicular, slope = -3

passing thru (4,-2) then
y = mx +b
-2=-3(-2) + b
-2=6+b
-2-6 = b
so b = -8

equation:
y = -3x - 8</span>

Find the missing values.
Gnom [1K]
5y + 7 = 52
5y = 52 - 7
5y = 45
y = 9

\frac{40}{60} = \frac{x+12}{42}

\frac{2}{3} = \frac{x+12}{42}

3(x+12) = 2 x 42
3x + 36 = 84
3x = 84 - 36
3x = 48
x = 16

Angle H = 180 - 52 - 36 = 92

If s store is selling boxes of pudding at 3 for $0.99,how much would 12 boxes cost
sweet [91]

Answer:

The cost price of 12 boxes of pudding is $3.96

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The quantity of pudding boxes = 3

The cost price for 3 boxes = $0.99

Again ,

The quantity of pudding boxes = 12

Let The cost price for 12 boxes = $x

Now, According to question

<u>Using Unitary method</u>

∵ The cost price of 3 boxes of pudding = $0.99

or,The cost price of 1 boxes of pudding = \dfrac{0.99}{3} = $0.33

∴The cost price of 12 boxes of pudding =$0.33 × 12

I.e x =$3.96

So,The cost price of 12 boxes of pudding = x =$3.96

Hence,The cost price of 12 boxes of pudding is $3.96 Answer

Umder what conditions can you use a normal distribution to approximate the binomial distrubution
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

See Below

Step-by-step explanation:

A <u>binomial distribution</u> is basically the probability of success of failure of an experiment that is repeated many times.

The parameters are "n" and "p".

Where

n is the number of times the experiment is performed, or the number of trials

p is the probability of success

Note: "q" is the probability of failure, or q = 1 - p

** Binomial Distribution is a discrete distribution

A normal distribution is a continuous distribution that is symmetric about the mean. That means, the data closer to mean occurs more frequently.

At times, we can use normal distribution to approximate a binomial distribution. The conditions can be said as:

<u>" we can approximate a binomial distribution using normal distribution when n is large enough "</u>

How large is large enough?

There isn't a precise answer, but we can take a rule of thumb as

If "n*p" and "n*q" is greater than 10, we can say the sample size, or n, is large enough.

We can approximate when this is less than 10 per say, but the approximation won't be that good. So, the more the value is greater than 10, the better the approximation.
