Answer:

The equation which correctly models the situation is : y = 0.2x

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the earnings of Duncan in dollars be x

Percentage of his earnings which he shares with his assistant = 20%

Amount shared in dollars = 20% of x

⇒ Amount shared in dollars = $0.2·x

The amount shared is given to assistant.

So, Amount which assistant receives from Duncan = $0.2x

Now, In question it is given Duncan gives his assistant $y

⇒ y = 0.2x

Hence, The equation which correctly models the situation is : y = 0.2x

The length of the segment AD is 28 cm. The distance between the midpoints of segments AB and CD is 16 cm. Find the length of the
erastovalidia [21]

Given=

length of the segment AD is 28 cm

distance between the midpoints of segments AB and CD is 16 cm

find out length of BC

To proof

AD = 28 cm

let the midpoint of the AB is E.

let the midpoint of the CD is F.

E & F are the midpoints i.e these points divide AB & CD in two equal parts.

Let BC = z

Let AE = EB = x     ( E is midpoint)

Let CF = FD = y      (F is midpoint)

the equation becomes

2x + 2y + z = 28

x + y + z = 16

mulitipy above equation by 2

we  get

2x + 2y + 2z = 32

thus solving the equations

2x + 2y + 2z = 32

2x + 2y + z = 28

we get

z = 4 cm

i.e BC = 4 cm

Hence proved

What is the value of this expression when x= -4 and y= 64? -437 + 12 O A O OB. OC. OD. -48
Arisa [49]
The correct answer when you plug in x and y values is -32 however that answer is not there . Perhaps they only wanted it before combining all like terms ? So again it really should be -32 , but if force yo pick
an answer from the choices I would pick -16
