Two lines will be parallel if when intersecting the same line, their angles in their respectable quadrants are equal. So all we have to do is figure out the same angle for each lines intersection. Since we have 5 lines that means we only solve 5 angles. i am going to find the angles in the top right corner of each intersection since that one is given for line b and i am going to label each angle alphabetically starting with b like this:
b = 89.5

Now now for c.we are given the opposite angle and at an Intersection opposite angles are equal so:
c= 91.5

for s we are given the angle on the same line. all lines add up to 180 degrers so the give angle and the angle we are searching for add up to 180.:
d + 89.5 = 180
d = 90.5

e follows same process as d so:
e + 88.5 = 180
e = 91.5

f can follow same as d and e so:
f + 90.5 =180
f = 89.5

Now we can pair up the lines with equal angles
b & f
c & e
d matches nothing so is not parallel

A 60-watt light bulb advertises that it will last 1500 hours. The lifetimes of these light bulbs is approximately normally distr
Ad libitum [116K]

Answer:

The proportion of these light bulbs that will last less than the advertised time is 18.94% or 0.1894

Step-by-step explanation:

The first thing to do here is to calculate the z-score

Mathematically;

z-score = (x - mean)/SD

= (1500-1550)/57 = -50/57 = -0.88

So the proportion we will need to find is;

P( z < -0.88)

We shall use the standard score table for this and our answer from the table is 0.1894 which is same as 18.94%

A line passes through (-5, -3) and is parallel to -3x - 7y = 10. The equation of the line in slope-intercept form is _____
Dmitry [639]

Answer:

-3x - 7y = 36

Step-by-step explanation:

The given line -3x - 7y = 10 has an infinite number of parallel lines, all of the form -3x - 7y = C.

If we want the equation of a line parallel to -3x - 7y = 10 that passes through (-5, -3), we substitute -5 for x in -3x - 7y = 10 and substitute -3 for y in -3x - 7y = 10:

-3(-5) - 7(-3) = C, or

15  + 21 = C, or C = 36

Then the desired equation is -3x - 7y = 36.
