Rectangle Z is not a scale drawing of Rectangle Y.

This is because there is no equal sides where it makes up the constant proportionality.

6/4 (= 3/2) in the left and right sides of the rectangle (Y/Z)

4/3 in the top and bottom sides of the rectangle (Y/Z)

As you can see 3/2 is not equal to 4/3 of scaling, so therefore it is not a scaling.

PLEASE HELP 3. what is the source of the line that contains the coordinate points (8, -3) and (-2, 7)
Darina [25.2K]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  -1

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope of a line between two points is given by the slope formula:

  m = (y2 -y1)/(x2 -x1)

  m = (7 -(-3))/(-2 -8) = 10/-10

  m = -1

The slope of the line is -1.

The can of tomatoes is three times as tall but one-third as wide as the can of tuna. What is true about the areas of their label
aivan3 [116]
Area of the label is calculated as diameter*PI*height
So if height of tomato can is 3 times the can of tuna: hTOM=3*hTUNA
Diameter of a tomato can is three times smaller so: dTOM=dTUNA÷3

so Area of a tomato can label= A=(dTUNA÷3)*PI*3*hTUNA
A=dTUNA*PI*hTUNA

and the area of a tuna can label=
A=dTUNA*PI*hTUNA

So, the label areas are the same.

X:y=5:3 and x+y=56 work out the value of x-y
Vladimir79 [104]

x - y = 14

given the ratio x : y = 5 : 3

then let x = 5x and y = 3x, hence equation can be expressed as

5x + 3x = 56

8x = 56 ( divide both sides by 8 )

x = 7

Hence x = 5 × 7 = 35 and y = 3 × 7 = 21

Thus x - y = 35 - 21 = 14
