I believe the correct answer is B because you obviously need to see if the person is still alive or not. I'm having second thoughts that it might be A.. I'm not sure which. Hopefully you get it right

This shock is intended to rearrange the body's cells and stimulate the organ to pump blood and return to normal functioning.

In short, the AED is practically a heart reset button. For example, in cases of arrhythmia, the device must transmit the shock at an interval that is according to the arrhythmia. Thus, it gives the body a chance to recover. For this reason, if you are using an AED, after activating it you must apply the electrodes and allow the AED to analyze your heart rate.
