How are the producers and consumers in the image able to coexist in reference to photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration?
faust18 [17]

Without photosynthesis, there wouldn't be any sugar or o2 which kick off the respiration reaction. Without respiration, plants would use up all the CO2 and die to extinct.

What is photosynthesis?

The photosynthesis is a process that occurs in the chloroplast organelle of the plant cells. The typical light reaction of the photosynthesis takes place inside the thylakoid membrane of the chloroplast.

The chief reactants such as water and carbon dioxide participate in the reaction. The water gets oxidized in the reaction to release the oxygen as a product. The carbon dioxide get reduced.

Thus, Photosynthesis requires the products from respiration, and respiration requires the products from photosynthesis.

List the order of the following layers from outermost to innermost of a root:
const2013 [10]

Answer:

Epiblema, cortex, endodermis, pericycle

Explanation:

The outer most layer of monocot root is rhizodermis or epiblema which has compactly arranged tubular cells and unicellular root hair as their extension. Just beneath the epiblema are multiple layers of parenchymatous cells with ample intercellular space, it is cortex. The inner most layer of cortex forms endodermis which has compactly arranged barrel shaped cells with casparian strips at their anticlinal wall. The uniseriate layer of thin walled parenchymatous cells, present below endodermis, which are sclerified in old roots makes pericycle. The vascular bundles are present as alternating strands of xylem and phloem, the discrete xylem strands alternated with phloem strands. The central parenchymatous cells form pith.

_____ is a method of enhancing the efficiency of food use and lowering the metabolic rate of the body through successive cycles
irinina [24]

Answer:

yo- yo diet

Explanation:

Yo-yo diet is a method of cyclic loss of weight gain and loss which is called as yo-yo due to the up and down motion of a yo-yo.

In this type of diet the person who is dieting first looses the weight but then again gains it and then again goes on a diet to loose the gained weight.

In this type of dieting pattern a person initially starves and maintains a hypocaloric diet to enhance the efficiency of food use however, this starvation back fires as when the person starts eating again the tendency to eat more fatty food and high caloric intake increases.

The exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the alveoli of the lungs is an example of what?
nignag [31]

Answer:

The correct answer is C) Passive transport

Explanation:

During the respiration process exchange of gases takes place between lungs and blood. This gas exchange is carried by simple diffusion which is a passive transport. Here gas molecule moves from area of higher concentration to the lower concentration area.

The lung's alveoli are surrounded by blood capillaries in which the concentration of CO2 is high while in alveoli concentration or partial pressure of CO2 is low so CO2 moves from blood to alveoli through diffusion.

In the case of oxygen, the concentration of oxygen is high in alveoli and less in blood inside blood capillaries so oxygen moves from alveoli to blood by diffusion. So the right answer is C.
