1. How does science use models to gain a better understanding of concepts?

Models are central to what scientists do. It helps them visualize something easier. Just like visualizing an atom as a big model is easier than examining one for real! It also provides an easier way of explaining something complex. Usually use models to show systems that are too small. Or, for example, planets are too big, scientists use models to better visualize and explain them.

2. What are the two main types of energy?

Potential and kinetic energy.

Potential energy is the storage of energy, kinetic is the usage.

3. What are the different forms of potential and kinetic energy?

Chemical, nuclear, gravitational, or mechanical. Kinetic energy is found in movement, an airplane flying or meteorite hitting the Earth are examples of where kinetic energy is found.

4. How are the different forms of energy converted?

Through the action of forces.

5. How can we trace the transformation of energy through living and nonliving systems?

There has to be a footprint or energy source (also known as a condenser). You need to study each block chain carefully to see how the energy is passed.

6. How do we use the scientific method and lab reports to conduct investigations and communicate our results

The scientific method helps you focus your investigation(s) and makes it easier to communicate your result(s) because of the way it is organized. It is made in a fashion so that people who read your report or experiment can recreate it themselves.

Position yourself with a clear line-of-sight so you can search the traffic environment about __________ seconds ahead.
maxonik [38]

Answer:

30 seconds ahead.

Explanation:

Its about 90% of the decisions which are made by someone while driving based on what they see. The vision must be good to make the decision accurately and timely before reacting to the environment.

Line of sight is define as the view which you can see without any obstruction. The best condition of proper line of sight is that someone is needed to see in all direction front, behind, left and right.

To establish the clean line of sight the person should search the traffic environment about 30 seconds ahead.

In reading the instruction manual that came with your garagedoor opener, you see that the transmitter unit in your car produces
iVinArrow [24]

Answer:

0.09221 V/m

Explanation:

\mu_0 = Vacuum permeability = 4\pi \times 10^{-7}\ H/m

P = Power of transmitter = 250 mW

r = Distance to source = 42 m

c = Speed of light = 3\times 10^8\ m/s

E_0 = Electric field amplitude

Intensity of a wave is given by

I=\frac{P}{4\pi r^2}\\\Rightarrow I=\frac{250\times 10^{-3}}{4\pi \times 42^2}\\\Rightarrow I=1.12779\times 10^{-5}\ W/m^2

Intensity is also given by

I=\frac{E_0^2}{2\mu_0 c}\\\Rightarrow E_0=\sqrt{I2\mu_0 c}\\\Rightarrow E_0=\sqrt{1.12779\times 10^{-5}\times 2\times 4\pi \times 10^{-7}\times 3\times 10^8}\\\Rightarrow E_0=0.09221\ V/m

The electric field amplitude at the receiver when it first fails is 0.09221 V/m

  • The complexity of Earth is beyond the capabilities of computer simulations.
  • Numerous assumptions that must be made by computer models have a big impact on the forecasts they produce.
  • A computer model can incorporate historical climate data, but it is not possible to draw assumptions about future climates using this data in any way.
  • A computer model cannot distinguish between anthropogenic climate change and natural climatic fluctuations.
<h3>How precise are temperature forecasts made by climate models?</h3>

The forecasting of global surface temperatures is one of the most significant results of climate models.

Scientists evaluate the effectiveness of their models by contrasting observations of the Earth's climate with predictions of future temperatures and "hindcasts" of past temperatures. Then, by comparing specific climate models and the average of all models to actual warming, scientists may determine whether temperature projections are accurate.

Researchers can have more faith that models can effectively predict future changes in the same factors if they successfully simulate the climate response in the past.
