Meredith completed an investigation involving earthworms. She placed a worm on a moist paper towel and carefully marked the posi

tion of the worm on the paper towel. She placed a cardboard box over the worm and paper towel and left it undisturbed for 10 minutes. She removed the box and noted that the worm had not moved from its original position. She then took a flash light and shined it on the worm for 10 minutes. After the end of the 10 minutes she measured the distanced the worm moved in cm. Is this an example of an experiment? Explain.

Answer

C) No, it is not an experiment because she compared two situations and had no control group.

This is an example of an experiment because a scientific procedure undertaken to make a discovery, test a hypothesis, or demonstrate a known fact is an experiment. She is investigating the movement and analogy between the earthworm using the box and flashlight.

Naily [24]
In order to solve this problem we use these formula:
p2 + 2pq + q2 = 1p + q = 1p = % dominant allele in the population
q = % recessive allele in the population
p2 = % homozygous dominant individuals
q2 = % homozygous recessive individuals
2pq = % heterozygous individualsFrom the given, we haveq2 = 21%Simply taking the square root,q = 4.58%

What are the components of adenosine triphosphate (ATP)?
romanna [79]

At the centre is a sugar molecule, ribose (the same sugar that forms the basis of RNA). Attached to one side of this is a base (a group consisting of linked rings of carbon and nitrogen atoms); in this case the base is adenine. The other side of the sugar is attached to a string of phosphate groups. These phosphates are the key to the activity of ATP.
