A+B=51       Eqn 1

A=B+3        Eqn 2

We will put value of A from Eqn 2 in Eqn 1

$(B+3)+B=51\\B+3+B=51\\2B=51-3\\2B=48$

Dividing both sides by 2

$\frac{2B}{2}=\frac{48}{2}\\B=24$

Putting B=24 in Eqn 2

$B=24+3\\B=27$
