Why we used dyes when we prepare onion , human cheek eqithelium smears, and didn’t use it in cork and leaf epidermal cells smear
Ad libitum [116K]

Answer:

Explanation:

Staining is done for onion cells to visualize the cytoplasm of yellow and white onions because they are not pigmented. The staining of human cheek cells with methylene blue is necessary to stain the nucleus to get clear image of it under microscope because methylene blue binds to negative charge nucleic acids

While for leaf epidermal cells smears, staining is not necessary as they are visible under light microscope without staining and they also have pigmented materials inside them such as chlorophyll chloroplast.  The cork cell is a non-living and have a cell wall whose structure is visible under light microscope.

Experimental studies reveal that double-stranded DNA can exist in three different helical forms known as A, B, and Z DNA. Why do
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:

The correct answer is - B-DNA is the most common form of the DNA present in the cell and a good approximation of the structure of DNA in the cell.

Explanation:

The B- DNA is a form of the DNA that is explained by Watson and crick by the double-helical structure model. B-DNA is the predominant form of the DNA out of the three forms of the DNA which are B-DNA, Z-DNA, and A-DNA.

B-DNA is is provide a good approximation of the structure of DNA in a cell and its most common form of DNA in a cell that makes it the most studied and focused form of DNA.

Thus, the correct answer is -  B-DNA is the most common form of the DNA present in the cell and a good approximation of the structure of DNA in the cell.

Each of the following relates to an aspect of evolution by natural selection. Explain the following. ii. Natural selection and t
dlinn [17]

The first one, ii. Natural selection and the formation of inseticide resistant insects or antibiotic resistant bacteria.

This can be explained in very simple way. As we all know, natural selection works in a way that only that adapted living beings are going to survive through a specific environment, whether it's because they can grab their food without too much work, or even that they can adapt to the weather. When we use inseticide, we are killing lots of non-resistant insects, and what's left are those that are resistant to this inseticide, and they'll reproduce again, and again we'll go through the same process, but remember, this insect is now stronger and more resistant that before.

The second case, iii. speciation and isolation give three examples how it may occur.

Well. the allopatric speciation and isolation will happen when theres a geographic barrier between one species. This one then is divided into two diffent habitats, but what can divide than could be a mountain, a tree, a river, a rock, anything. And this could be too called as a geographic isolation, because in this new environment, species are going to develop in a different way.
