Since you know that the top angle is 90 degrees and the bottom is 45 that tells you that the only other angle has to be 45 degrees which means the side it opens up into is also 3radical2 so then you do a^2+b^2=c^2 and you get 4radical3

On the last chemistry exams a student scored 83, 89, and 92. What score must the student earn on the next exam to have an averag
Dmitrij [34]

In order to get an average of 90, the student needs to get a score of 96.

The average can be found by summing up all the numbers in a data set and then dividing it by the number of characters in that dataset.

Assuming the average is 90, and that the score the student needs to get is x, the formula would be:

Average = Sum of scores / Number of scores

90 = (83 + 89 + 92 + x) / 4

90 x 4 = 264 + x

x = 360 - 264

x = 96

The student needs to get a score of 96 on the last exam.

If k stands for an integer, then is it possible for k2 + k to stand for an odd integer? Be prepared to justify your answer.
BartSMP [9]

Answer:

k^2 + k never stands for an odd integer

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us consider either case with which k stands for an odd or even integer;

Case 1: k is an odd integer

For integer a, k = 2a + 1

So, k + 1 = 2a + 2 = 2( a + 1 ) = 2b for integer b

k^2 + k = k ( k + 1 ) = k ( 2b ) = 2kb = 2c for integer c,

Therefore, if k is an odd integer, then k^2 + k is an even integer ;

Case 2: k is an even integer

For an integer a, k = 2a

So, k + 1 = 2a + 1

k^2 + k = k( k+1 ) = 2a( 2a + 1 ) , multiple of 2

Therefore, if k is an even integer, then k^2 + k is an even integer;

This would make k^2 + k never stand for an odd integer
