To expand single brackets, you multiply the term on the outside by everything on the inside, so:
-6 × a = -6x
-6 × 8 = -48

Which means that your final answer is -6a - 48
I hope this helps!

It would be -6a-48
because you have to do the distributive property by multiplying the outside number to everything on the inside. Sprinkle the outer number onto the inner cupcakes and then viola!

One cylinder has a volume that is 8 cm³ less than 7/8 of the volume of a second cylinder. If the first cylinder’s volume is 216
Phoenix [80]
Let's say the cylinders are
A = first cylinder
B = second cylinder

B has some volume, the volume is  "x"
what's 7/8 of "x"?  well (7/8)x
what's 8 less than that?  well (7/8)x - 8

A has a volume of 216
we also know that, A's volume is (7/8)x - 8

thus

\bf \textit{A's volume}=
\begin{cases}
216\\
\frac{7}{8}x-8
\end{cases}\implies 216=\cfrac{7}{8}x-8\impliedby

1728=7x-64\implies 1728+64=7x\implies \cfrac{1792}{7}=x\implies 256=x

Which ordered pairs are in the solution set of the system of linear inequalities?
Elanso [62]

Answer:

The ordered pairs (5 , -2) , (3 , 1) , (4 , 2) are in the set of the solution ⇒

3rd answer

Step-by-step explanation:

- The first line has negative slope and passing through points (0 , 0)

  and (4 , -2)

∵ y>\frac{-1}{2}x

- The second line has positive slope and passing through points (-2 , 0)

  and (2 , 2)

∵ y

- Look to the attached figure to see the common part of the solutions

- The red shaded represents the inequality y>\frac{-1}{2}x

- The blue shaded represents the inequality y

- The shaded part with two colors represents the common solutions

  of the two inequalities

- Lets find the ordered pairs which are in the solution set of the system

  of linear inequalities

- Points (-4 , 2) , (-3 , 1) , (4 , -3) lies out the common shaded

- Points (5 , -2) , (3 , 1) , (3 , -1) , (4 , 2)

∵ Point (5 , -2) lies in the common shaded part

∵ Point (3 , 1) lies in the common shaded part

∵ Point (4 , 2) lies in the common shaded part

∴ The ordered pairs (5 , -2) , (3 , 1) , (4 , 2) are in the set of the
