How to show that acceleration is constant?

Physics

1. We can create a free-body diagram to show, that all forces acting on a particle equal 0. When no force is acting on a particle or sum of forces equals 0, then acceleration is constant.
2. Knowing that acceleration is constant, we can plot a graph showing velocity versus time. If acceleration is constant, then our graph should form a straight line (because velocity will not change).

1.5-m length of straight wire experiences a maximum force of 1.2 N when in a uniform magnetic field that is 1.8 T. 1) What curre
Iteru [2.4K]

Answer:

I = 0.44 A

Explanation:

The magnetic force on a conductor is given by the expression

       F = I L x B

Where bold letters indicate vectors, I is the current, L is the vector in the direction of the current, and B is the magnetic field

Since the force is maximum, the wire must be perpendicular to the magnetic field, therefore

        F = I L B sin 90

        I = F / L B

Let's calculate

        I = 1.2 / 1.5 1.8

        I = 0.44 A

2. A woman prevents a 3kg brick from falling by pressing it against a vertical wall. The coefficient of friction
Anettt [7]

Answer:

49 N

Explanation:

We are given;

  • Mass of the brick as 3 kg
  • The coefficient of friction as 0.6

We are required to determine the force that must be applied by the woman so the brick does not fall.

  • We need to importantly note that;
  • For the brick not to fall the, the force due to gravity is equal to the friction force acting on the brick.
  • That is; Friction force = Mg

But; Friction force = μ F

Therefore;

μ F = mg

0.6 F = 3 × 9.8

0.6 F = 29.4

      F = 49 N

Therefore, she must use a force of 49 N
