By popular votes of all those that were qualified citizens (To be a citizen you must be 18 or older, A male, Own property and Be born in Athens, the home of democracy) along with an assembly (Gave an opportunity for men to vote on laws and debate.) Also, Democracy was limited because 1. not all Greek city-states were democratic for example, Sparta. B. Not everyone could vote. (especially women.)

we can experiment be applied to everyday life by The Stanford prison experiment demonstrated the power of social roles, norms, and scripts in affecting human behavior. Social norms require guards to be authoritarian and prisoners to be submissive. When prisoners rebelled, they violated these social norms, which led to upheaval. The good guards were fulfilling their social roles and they did not object to other guards' abusive behavior because of the power of the situation.

This Question talks about the book titled To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee published in 1960.

In chapter ten of the book, Jem and Scout went exploring with their air-rifles to see if they could find a rabbit or a squirrel. They noticed a dog showing that something is not right. Then reported to Calpernia who feared the dog is suffering the dog from rabies.

The dog represents the "madness", and Atticus will do anything to protect his family.

Atticus kills the mad dog with a shot between the eyes.

It fits with the symbolic nature of the incident by showing that some actions are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.
