This is some simple Algebra
So it's 4x+16=-2
We subtract 16 from both sides
4x=-18
Sivide both sides by 4
X=-4.5

Suppose the number of free throws in a basketball game by one player are normally distributed with a standard deviation 0.97 fre
babunello [35]

Answer: 1.960

Step-by-step explanation:

The value of z we use to calculate a confidence interval with a (1-\alpha) confidence level is a two-tailed test value i.e. represented by :-

              z_{\alpha/2}

Given : The level of confidence: 1-\alpha=0.95

Then, significance level : \alpha: 1-0.95=0.05

With the help of standard normal distribution table for z , we have

z_{\alpha/2}=z_{0.05/2}=z_{0.025}=1.960

Hence, the value of z should be used to calculate a confidence interval with a 95% confidence level =1.960

The measure of the vertex angle of an isoceles triangle is one- fourth that of a base angle
horsena [70]

Answer:

Base angle = 72

Vertex angle = 18

Step-by-step explanation:

Measure of the base angle = x. But there are two of them. (Definition of isosceles).  Keep that in mind.

The vertex angle is 1/4 of one of the base angles. That means that the vertex is 1/4 x

All three angles = 180 degrees.

So we have x + x + x/4 = 180 degrees.

change 1/4x to 0.25x x since 1/4 = 0.25

Equation

x + x + 0.25 = 180

2.5x  = 180

Solution

2.5x = 180                      Divide by 2.5 on both sides

2.5x/2.5 = 180/2.5

x = 72

Answer

That means that each base angle = 72 degrees

The Vertex Angle = 72/4 = 18

Translate to a proportion and solve.<br> 148.5 is 59 1/5% of what?
lesantik [10]

The actual value is 250.84 .

Formula

Percentage calculation =(given value/total value)*100

let the actual value is "x"

percentage we known is 59 1/5% (59.2%) and 59.2% of x is 148.5.

for the percentage,

x*59.2% =148.5

x*59.2/100=148.5

x=(148.5/59.2)*100

x=(2.5084)*100

x=250.84

The actual value is 250.84 .
