Answer:

 • Pet store 2 is offering the better price.
 • The price by which it is cheap is: $ 0.315

Step-by-step explanation:

Pet Store--1

They are offering the flea treatment for 40 percent off plus an additional 25 percent off their regular price of $33.

This means that the cost of treatment after a off of 40% is:

33-0.40×33=$ 19.8

Now after a additional discount of 25% , a person has to pay (100-25)%=75% of the above discounted price.

i.e. 0.75 of 19.8

= 0.75×19.8

= $ 14.85

Hence, the total cost of treatment in store -1 is: $ 14.85

Pet Store--2

They are offering the same flea treatment for 55 percent off plus an additional 5 percent off their regular price of $34.

This means that the cost of treatment after a off of 55% is:

34-0.55×34=$ 15.3

Now after a additional discount of 5% , a person has to pay (100-5)%=95% of the above discounted price.

i.e. 0.95 of 15.3

= 0.95×15.3

= $ 14.535

Hence, the total cost of treatment in store -1 is: $ 14.535

Hence, the location which is offering the better price is: Pet Store-2

The amount by which it is cheaper than store 1 is:

= 14.85-14.535

= $ 0.315
