Midpoint formula : (x1 + x2) / 2, (y1 + y1) / 2
(4,1)....x1 = 4 and y1 = 1
(x,y)....x2 = x and y2 = y
sub
(4 + x) / 2 , (1 + y) / 2 = 3/4

(4 + x) / 2 = 3
4 + x = 3 * 2
4 + x = 6
x = 6 - 4
x = 2

(1 + y) / 2 = 4
1 + y = 4 * 2
1 + y = 8
y = 8 - 1
y = 7

ur other endpoint, R, is (2,7)

Let me show you why

p+5-8

Subtract 5 from both sides

p+5-5=-8-5

p=-13

So , yeah its D

Stella graphs the equation y=1/3x – 2
faltersainse [42]

we have

y=\frac{1}{3}x-2

<u>Statements</u>

<u>case A)</u> The graph is a straight line.

The statement is True

Because, this is a linear equation (see the attached figure)

<u>case B)</u> The line passes through the origin.

The statement is False

Because the point (0,0) is not a solution of the equation

Verify

Substitute the value of x and y in the equation

0=\frac{1}{3}*0-2

0=-2 ------> is not true

the point (0,0) is not a solution

therefore

The line does not pass through the origin

<u>case C)</u> The line passes through the point  (0,-2)

The statement is True

Because the point (0,-2) is a solution of the equation

Verify

Substitute the value of x and y in the equation

-2=\frac{1}{3}*0-2

-2=-2 ------> is true

the point (0,-2) is a solution

therefore

The line passes through the point (0,-2)

<u>case D) </u>The slope of the line is 3

The statement is False

Because, the slope of the line is m=\frac{1}{3}

<u>case E)</u> The y-intercept of the line is 2

The statement is False

we know that

The y-intercept is the value of y when the value of x is equal to zero

so

For x=0

find the value of y

y=\frac{1}{3}*0-2=-2

the y-intercept is equal to -2

Darla drives at a constant speed of 45 miles per hour. If she drives for y miles and it takes her x hours, write the two-variabl
Darya [45]

Answer:

y = 45x miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed is the rate of change of distance with time. Mathematically,

speed = distance/time

Given that Darla travels at a constant speed of 45 miles per hour and for y miles, it takes her x hours then

45 = y/x

multiply both sides by x

45x = y

then the number of miles (y) Darla can drive in x hours

y = 45x (in miles)

Solve -2.5n + 8.7 &gt; 5.45.
AlexFokin [52]
A. n<1.3

-2.5n+8.7>5.45
subtract 8.7 from both sides
-2.5n>-3.25
divide -2.5 from both sides
(since you divided by a negative you flip the sign!!)
n<1.3
