2x+3y=36 when y=6

2x+(3)(6)=36

Simplify

2x+18=36

Subtract 18 from both sides.

2x+18−18=36−18

2x=18

Divide both sides by 2.

2x/2=18/2

x=9

Answer:

By continuing my education I increased my earning potential from $21,484 to $39,746 a year. That's a difference of $18262 a year.

If the additional education costs $18,000, then in one year it will pay for itself.

If the perimeter of a rhombus is 164 and the length of the longer diagonal is 80, find the length of the shorter diagonal.
AysviL [449]

A rhombus has four equal sides. If the perimeter of this rhombus is 164, then the length of one side is 164/4, or 41.

Draw this rhombus. Label all four sides with "41." Label the longer diagonal 80 and the half length of that diagonal 40. You will see inside the rhombus four congruent triangles with hypotenuse 41, leg 10 and unknown height. Thus, this unknown height is found by solving x^2 + 40^2 = 41^2, and x^2=9, so that the length of the shorter diagonal is 2(2) = 18 (answer).

Line segment BC will be reflected over line m to form line segment BC. Which of the following statements must be true?
Len [333]

Answer:

Option A

Step-by-step explanation:

To reflect line segment BC over line m, BB' will be perpendicular to the line m

and line m bisector of BB'.

So, the correct answer is option A

A) Line m is the perpendicular bisector of line segment BB' and the line segment CC'

Option b is wrong , it is impossible for the line B'C' to be perpendicular to line BC. B'C' is the image of BC.

Both option c and d is wrong because the perpendicular distance from b to the line m not equal to the perpendicular distance from c to the line m.

Quick algebra 1 assignment for 50 points!
Sergeeva-Olga [200]

The example on direct variation is illustrated below based on the information given.

How to illustrate the direct variation?

An example will be:

When x = 2, y = 10. Find the value of y when x is 6.

In this case, this will be calculated thus:

y = kx

10 = 2k

k = 10/2

k = 5

Since y = kx.

y = 5 × 6

y = 30

The value of y is 30.
