Solution :

Let , amount he gave to his brother is , b .

So ,

$\text{Amount left = Total amount -Amount he give to his brother}\\\\a=A-b\\\\b=A-a\\\\b=\dfrac{3}{8}-\dfrac{1}{10}\\\\b=\dfrac{(3\times 10)-8}{80}\\\\b=\dfrac{22}{80}\\\\b=\dfrac{11}{40}$

So , amount he give to his brother is  $\dfrac{11}{40}$ .
