Answer:

Hogg laws were enacted by the past Governor of Texas James Stephen Hogg. Jim Hogg was the 20th Governor of Texas from January 20, 1891 to January 15, 1895.

In his second term, he worked on his campaign promises which in turn became laws. One of which is good rail systems and stopping the Railroad Commission from issuing watered stocks.

Also, a law was passed allowing the Railroad Commission to fix fair rates and ending the practices railroad companies had used to manipulate stocks.

Another was the regulations of land ownership which will regulate alien land ownership. It required private corporations to sell all land they had held for speculative purposes within 15 years.

He also supported the railways creation in which he permitted the legislature in 1894 to create the Railroad Commission.

baherus [9]

Answer:

In the 1930s, the United States abandoned the gold standard because the government wanted to rapidly expand the money supply in response to the Great Depression.

Explanation:

The Gold Standard monetary system was abandoned during the years after the Great Depression of 1929 to prevent prices and wages from falling in response to a general reduction in global demand, so that adjustments fell on the total amount of employment. Under these conditions, the depreciation of the exchange rate (that is, the abandonment of the pure gold standard) was considered "less painful" (in order to reduce exports). This prevented the reduction of wages, especially since the pressure of the unions imposed this kind of policy in some way. And all this in addition without taking into account that all countries, sooner or later, would adopt the same policy, resort to devaluation, with which the destruction of employment for years was inevitable.

When voting rights frist started only wealthy land owners were allowed to vote which was an idea that was taken from the Greek Democracy and all members of the Greeek Assembly were elected their positions by citizens that they represented and were paid for their work in the public office just like the way the U.S. elects their officials. The U.S. also took the 3 branches of government from the Greek Democracy and the citizens right to exercise political power. The Constitution was an idea taken from the Roman Republic. The Roman Republic had a list of rules called the Twelve Tables (list of rules/Roman legal system) and both the Roman & U.S. Senate's deal with foreign policies.
