i think that is when bethany saw all the other kids on the beach and having a good time. because bethanys mom said she couldnt go.
As a reader, the only thing I can conclude after reading this excerpt is that Mr. Chiu is frequently distracted by concerns for his own health. As this part of the story goes, I didn't see warm feelings between the couple, or the happiness they share due to their honeymoon. The only stressed thing in this excerpt is the main character's state of health and how he feels relieved because the honeymoon comes to an end.
