When people are traveling on a road or on a highway,
travelers can always expect to see information about the road on which they are
traveling such as curves in the road, speed limits, speed suggestions,
road/highway names, etc. Signage works
well in most conditions; however, for some road situations special caution is
taken to help ensure information will not be missed by travelers. As an
extra step/precaution, white painted letters and symbols are placed on the
surface of the roadway; this measure helps prevent what would could potentially
be a dangerous/deadly situation.
Thinking ahead allowed builders to construct the Empire State Building very quickly. Every day, workers were given instructions that showed what had to be done and where each delivery needed to go. Individual materials were marked to make sure they went to the right place in the building.
