As stated in chapter thirty-five of Mark Twain's "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," Huck borrows a white shirt off the clothesline so that Jim can keep a journal on it while they attempt to help him escape from slavery on the Phelps Plantation. Nevertheless, Jim has never been sent to school, so he cannot read or write. Therefore, the journal is one of Tom's unrealistic ideas to make the escape more exciting.

. Does nature or nurture determine a person’s destiny?
Montano1993 [528]
In deciding destiny, I think both are important and play a significant role. Each person's destiny is decided by what he is and what he does; and what every person is to be or do is determined by what he lives for, thinks for, or works for.
