In deciding destiny, I think both are important and play a significant role. Each person's destiny is decided by what he is and what he does; and what every person is to be or do is determined by what he lives for, thinks for, or works for.

Answer:

I believe it is nurture that determines the person's future. Of course there are a few exception but ill provide an example:

Lets say someone was born into high crime and poverty, growing up around crime and violence it's statistically more likely for them to be involved in that, then lets say someone from the rich suburbs.

Which word from the beginning of Simon Wheeler's story lets readers know his dialect is not as refined as the narrator's?
Irina18 [472]

Answer:

We can see this when he uses words like "solitry" and "Thish-yer".

Explanation:

This question is about "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County".

The narrator of the story, although maintaining a simple language, presents a formal diction, with polite words and absence of slang and colloquialism. This narrator presents an educated and cultured tone through the words he uses, in contrast to Simon Wheeler, who is less sophisticated when using colloquial words, slang and a more popular and informal diction. This can be seen through the words "solitry" and "Thish-yer"

Typicality

Typicality, specifically the typicality effect, is the idea that people are more likely to be able to respond to typical items of a group quicker than atypical (strange, unusual, not normal) items of a group.

In this case, this concept is reflected by the children learning to quickly point out the item that is unlike the others (aka atypical).
