So we can call the width of the rectangle x.
So then the length would be 4x.
The perimeter would then be 10x.
Since the perimeter is 70, we can say 70 = 10x.
And then simplify that to 7 = x.
So the length of a rectangle would be 28 cm, and the width would be 7.
So to find the area, just multiply length by width.
28*7 = 196 square cm
So the rectangle's area is 196 square cm.

I hope I helped!

In the figure, OA is a diameter of the smaller circle and O is the centre of the larger circle. Find the
Burka [1]

Answer:

942 6/7 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Since O = Center of bigger circle, OA = Radius of bigger circle.

∴ Area of smaller circle - Area of bigger circle = Area of shaded part.

∴ Area of smaller circle = 22/7 × 10²

                                       = 22/7 × 100

                                       = 2200/7

                                       = 314 2/7 cm²

∴ Area of bigger circle = 22/7 × 20 ²

                                      = 22/7 × 400

                                      = 1257  1/7 cm²

∴ Area of shaded part = 1257 1/7 - 314 2/7

                                     =  942 6/7 cm²

How is the Pythagorean theorem related to the distance<br> formula?
Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

The distance formula is a formalization of the Pythagorean Theorem using (x,y) . They are the same thing (but the distance formula is for working out the distance between two points and Pythagoras theorem is for working out the missing length in a right-angled triangle) in two different contexts.

What is the vertex of the quadratic function f(x)=x2+6x+16? Write your answer
Olenka [21]

Answer:

The vertex of the quadratic function is:

(x_{v}, y_{v})=\left(-3,\:7\right)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the function

f\left(x\right)=x^2+6x+16

As the vertex of the form y=ax^2+bx+c is defined as:

x_v=-\frac{b}{2a}

As the quadratic function of parabola params are

a=1,\:b=6,\:c=16

so

x_v=-\frac{b}{2a}

x_v=-\frac{6}{2\cdot \:1}

x_v=-3

Putting x_v=-3 to determine y_v

y_v=\left(-3\right)^2+6\left(-3\right)+16

y_v=3^2-18+16

y_v=9-2

y_v=7

Therefore, the vertex of the quadratic function is:

(x_{v}, y_{v})=\left(-3,\:7\right)
