The correct answer is D.

The federal goverment would actually increase its spending and perform an expansionary monetary policy.

During a recession, the reason for conducting an expansionary monetary policy is to boost aggregate demand. If the government invests public money on new projects, employment rates will be increased as people would be needed to work on them. Moreover, these people who were previously unemployed start to earn a salary and to increase their demand of goods, service and investment opportunities. Moreover, goverment spending can be used to boost demand directly through granting subsidies or money transfers to the mostly harmed sectors of the economy.

the tragic murder of kitty genovese outside her new york apartment stimulated social psychological research on
Bumek [7]

A social psychological research on altruism was stimulated by the tragic murder of Kitty Genovese outside her apartment in New York city.

On the 13th of March, 1964, Kitty Genovese, a 28-year-old bartender, was tragically murdered through stabbing outside her apartment in Queens, New York city.

Consequently, Kitty's tragic murder stimulated a social psychological research on altruism because she was murdered in the sight of witnesses and none sought to help or assist her.

In Psychology, altruism can be defined as a phenomenon in which an individual promote someone else's welfare, especially at his or her own detriment.

Hence, altruism is an act in which you show selfness and concern for other people's predicament, even at a risk or cost to yourself.
