Answer:

The main purpose of the Fourteen Points by Woodrow Wilson's was to outline a strategy for ending the war

Explanation:

The main purpose of the Fourteen Points was to outline a strategy for ending the war. He set out specific goals that he wanted to achieve through the war. If the United States was going to fight in Europe and soldiers were going to lose their lives, he wanted to establish exactly what they were fighting for.

Wilson was an idealist, and believed his Fourteen Points would constitute a fair peace at the end of WW1 and produce a better world for all that would avoid future wars.So. the purpose of the Fourteen Points was to end WW1 in a way that was fair to all sides and create a better world without future wars. However, many of the Points were naive or unrealistic; for example Britain was NEVER going to accept Point 2 "Freedom of navigation upon the seas... in peace as in war." Additionally, France and Britain saw the idea of an American President thinking he could dictate the terms of any peace treaty after a war where they had done most of the fighting and dying, and America hadn't even joined in for nearly 3 years, as arrogant and offensive. So. despite Wilson's lofty ideals when he made the original speech in January 1918,the possibility of his Fourteen Points being adopted as a complete block was a non-starter.
