So it may be a long process, but the way i solved this problem was to first find the measure of one interior angle, then subtract that from 180 (supplementary angles) to get the measure of x.

HOW TO:

1) Find measure of ONE interior angle (keep in mind that, as labeled in the diagram, each interior angle is the same measure):note that n stands for the number of sides.
                  (n-2)180/n

                  (5-2)180/5

                  (3)180/5

                   540/5

                    108

So the measure of ONE interior angle is 108 degrees.

2) Now subtract 108 from 180 to get the measure of x.

     180-108 = 72

Thus, the measure of x is 72 degrees.

Please solve. 6(3 + 8) - 4/5
Gre4nikov [31]

G'Day mate! Here's the answer:

53 1/3

1. 6(3 + 6) - 4/5

2. 6 x 3 is 18, and 6 x 8 is 48

3. 18 plus 48 is 66

4. 66 - 4/5 = 266/5

5. 266/5 as mixed number is 53 1/5

-2y^2-19y+33 trail and error
Alexandra [31]

Answer: (-2y+3)(y+11)

Step-by-step explanation:

33 is 3×11 so expect something like

(y+3)(y+11) = y^2+14y+33

leading term has coefficient -2 so

one factor is like (-2y+__)

Try (-2y+3)(y+11) = -2y^2-19y+33

which happens to be the answer

find three consecutive negative integers such that six times the largest is equal to the twice sum of the two smaller integers.
Oksana_A [137]

Answer:

The consecutive negative integers are -3, -4 and -5.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the three consecutive negative integers be k, (k-1) and (k -2)

Now, according to the question:

6(Largest Integer)  = 2( Sum of smaller two Integers)

or, 6 (k)  = 2( (k-1) + (k-2))

⇒ 6k = 2(2k -3)

or, 6k = 4k - 6

or, 6k - 4k = -6

or, 2k = -6 ⇒  k =  -3

Hence, the largest negative integer = -3

The next two consecutive negative  integer are (k-1) and (k-2)  = (-3-1) and (-3-2)

 = -4 and -5

Hence, the consecutive negative integers are -3, -4 and -5.
