We sketch two triangles, DFE and DGH, as shown below

Side DF correspond to side DG, the scale factor is 40÷32=1.25

Side DE correspond to side DH, the scale factor is 30÷24=1.25

That leaves us with the last corresponding sides, EF and HG which would also have a scale factor 1.25

Both triangles share the same angle D

We can conclude triangle DFE and triangle DGH are similar for property SSS and SAS

Answer:

a. -2/12

b. -0.1

c. 1/9

Step-by-step explanation:

-2/12 = -1/6 < -1/8

-0.1 = -1/10 > -1/8

and 1/9 is the only positive fraction, making it simpler to place.

Alex

Answer:

  • h = 2A/(B₁+B₂)

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given equation</u>

  • A=1/2(B₁+B₂)h

<u>Solving for h</u>

  • A=1/2(B₁+B₂)h
  • 2A = (B₁+B₂)h
  • 2A/(B₁+B₂)= h
  • h = 2A/(B₁+B₂)

What is the solution to the equation e^3x=12 Round your answer to the nearest hundredth
Lunna [17]

Keywords:

<em>equation, variable, clear, round, centesima, neperian logarithm, exponential </em>

For this case we have the following equation e ^ {3x} = 12, from which we must clear the value of the variable "x" and round to the nearest hundredth. To do this, we must apply properties of neperian and exponential logarithms. By definition:

ln (e ^ x) = x

So:

e ^ {3x} = 12 We apply Neperian logarithm to both sides:

ln (e^{3x}) = ln (12)\\3x = ln (12)

We divide between "3" both sides of the equation:

\frac {3x} {3} = \frac {ln (12)} {3}\\x = \frac {ln (12)} {3}\\x = 0.828302217

Rounding out the nearest hundredth we have:

x = 0.83

Answer:

x = 0.83

A board is 60 centimeters long Kelly cut the board into two pieces with 14 centimeters longer than the other find the longer pie
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

44 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

So, it is asking what the bigger piece of the 60 cm board is. First you can divide it into two even pieces. That makes each piece 30 cm. but, it wants one of the two 14 cm bigger, right? So, now your going to add 14 cm to 30 cm, giving you 44 cm. But, if you do that then you will have to subtract 14 cm from the other board. That leaves you with the bigger board is 44 cm, and the smaller one is 16 cm.
