Explanation :

The given graph depicts the velocity-time graph for both Elan and Anna during a race.

In this velocity-time graph, it shows the acceleration of Elan and Anna for different time intervals.

We know that acceleration is defined as :

a = \dfrac{v-u}{t}

Where,

v is the final velocity

u is the initial velocity

and t is the time taken

We know that the slope of the v - t graph gives the acceleration of an object.

So, it can be seen that from 6 to 8 seconds, Elan accelerated faster than Anna as the slope for Elan is more.

So, the correct option is (c) " From 6 to 8 seconds, Elan accelerated faster than Anna ".

For this case, the first thing you should observe is the variables:

Vertical axis: speed

Horizontal axis: time

Since the relationship between both variables is linear then we have that the slope of the line represents the acceleration according to the formula:

vf = a * t + vo

Where,

a: acceleration

t: time

vf: final speed

vo: initial speed

According to the equation, in the interval of 6 to 8 seconds, we observe that the slope of the Elan line is greater than the slope of the Anna line.

Therefore, for the 6 to 8 second interval, the Elan acceleration is greater.

Answer:

From 6 to 8 seconds, Elan accelerated faster than Anna.

boyakko [2]

The fatal current is 51 mA = 0.051 Ampere.

The resistance is 2,050Ω .

Voltage = (current) x (resistance)

            =  (0.051 Ampere) x (2,050 Ω)  =  104.6 volts .

This is what the arithmetic says IF the information in the question
is correct.

I don't know how true this is, and I certainly don't plan to test it,
but I have read that a current as small as  15 mA  through the
heart can be fatal, not  51 mA .

If 15 mA can do it, and the sweaty electrician's resistance is
really 2,050 Ω, then the fatal voltage could be as little as  31 volts !

The voltage at the wall-outlets in your house is  120 volts in the USA !
THAT's why you don't want to stick paper clips or a screwdriver into
outlets, and why you want to cover unused outlets with plastic plugs
if there are babies crawling around.

A 150 g baseball pitched at a speed of 45 m/s is hit straight back to the pitcher at a speed of 60 m/s. What is the magnitude of
abruzzese [7]

Answer:

The average force is 1578.94 N.

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass of baseball = 150 g

Speed = 45 m/s

Speed of pitcher = 60 m/s

Time = 9.5 ms

We need to calculate the average force

Using formula of impulse

J=\Delta p

J=m\Delta v...(I)

J=F\Delta t....(II)

From equation (I) and (II)

F=\dfrac{m(v_{f}-v_{i})}{\Delta t}

Where, m = mass of baseball

v_{f} = final velocity

v_{i} = Initial velocity

\Delta t = time

Put the value into the formula

F=\dfrac{150\times10^{-3}\times(60-(-40))}{9.5\times10^{-3}}

F=1578.94\ N

Hence, The average force is 1578.94 N.
