a shipping company makes a display to show how many cubes can fit into a large box. each cube has a side of 2 inches. the large

box has sides of 10 inches. use exponents to express the volume of each cube and the large boxvolume of cubes _____ volume of large box_____find how many cube will fit in the boxsuppose the shipping company were packing balls with a diameter of 2 inches instead of cubes. would the large box hold more balls or fewer balls than the cubes? explain your answersuppose the size of each cube is doubles and the size of the large box is doubled. how many of these new cubes will fit in the new large box? explain how you found your answer.

1 The volume of the cube is 2 * 2 * 2 or 2 ^ 3 in ^ 3 while the volume of the large box is 10 * 10 * 10 or 10 ^ 3 in ^ 3.

2 The answer is 125. Just divide the large box to the volume of the cube 1000 / 8 = 125.

3 The box will hold the same number of balls as small boxes. With the balls, there is empty space.

4 The answer is still 125. Just find the volume of the box and of the cube. Divide the box volume by the cube volume.

In this problem, you must use SohCahToa which basically means:

Sin - opposite over hypotenuse

Cosine - adjacent over hypotenuse

Tangent - Opposite over hypotenuse

So in this picture we have 4 -which is on the opposite side of x - and a 5 -which is the hypotenuse of the triangle. This means we must use sin.

Using a calculator you put in:

sin^{-1} (\frac{4}{5} )

Your answer is 53.13 degrees

A builder of houses needs to order some supplies that have a waiting time Y for delivery, with a continuous uniform distribution
xenn [34]

Answer:

The Expected cosy of the builder is $433.3

Step-by-step explanation:

$400 is the fixed cost due to delay.

Given Y ~ U(1,4).

Calculating the Variable Cost, V

V = $0 if Y≤ 2

V = 50(Y-2) if Y > 2

This can be summarised to

V = 50 max(0,Y)

Cost = 400 + 50 max(0, Y-2)

Expected Value is then calculated by;

Waiting day =2

Additional day = at least 1

Total = 3

E(max,{0, Y - 2}) = integral of Max {0, y - 2} * ⅓ Lower bound = 1; Upper bound = 4, (4,1)

Reducing the integration to lowest term

E(max,{0, Y - 2}) = integral of (y - 2) * ⅓ dy Lower bound = 2; Upper bound = 4 (4,2)

E(max,{0, Y - 2}) = integral of (y) * ⅓ dy Lower bound = 0; Upper bound = 2 (2,0)

Integrating, we have

y²/6 (2,0)

= (2²-0²)/6

= 4/6 = ⅔

Cost = 400 + 50 max(0, Y-2)

Cost = 400 + 50 * ⅔

Cost = 400 + 33.3

Cost = 433.3
