The correct answer is D) “Code switching”

Code switching is the process by which someone changes his/her language, dialect or register based on the context or setting. In this case for example, the student is adapting her register when speaking to the professor as the social context is different. When talking to her friend she uses an informal register and when speaking to the teacher she uses an informal register.

The abstract and concrete language options are not related to the change of language or register so they do not apply to the example. As regards polarization, it occurs when two or more groups are divided for having contrasting ideas.

Answer:

Culture is learned

Explanation:

Cultural learning is the way a group of people within a society or culture tend to learn and pass on information to the younger members of society.

When we are born, we are born with reflexes and instincts, we are not born with a culture but <u>we are born into a culture.</u> Therefore, <u>our parents or primary caregivers are the ones who, since we are babies, teach us what is acceptable and what's not acceptable in the society we were born </u>and therefore we learn all these accepted behaviors that are part of our culture.

The fact that Oxana Malaya was raised by dogs and that she would engage in very doglike behaviors (before being resocialized) illustrates the idea of how she learned from the dogs and she acquired doglike behaviors.

Therefore, this is an example of how we, as humans, are not born with a culture but rather that culture is learned.
