How might an invasive species threaten biodiversity
nika2105 [10]

Answer:

The invasive s p e c i e s tend to diminish the populations of native s p e c i e s because they outcompete them, and also manage to disturb the ecosystem.

Explanation:

The invasive species can or cannot be dangerous for the native biodiversity, but unfortunately, it is the second one that is much more common. The reasons as to why the invasive species tend to threaten the biodiversity are that they often don't have a native predator that will control their numbers, outcompete the native species for resources, and the native species don't have defense mechanisms against them. These factors result in havoc in the ecosystem in a relatively short period, with the potential to totally destroy it and changed it.

There are thousands of examples of invasive species around the world, some much more obvious than others. The Burmese pythons in Florida for example, have started to overtake the a p e x predator niche from the alligators by directly attacking them. On the other side of the world, in Australia, the cats and rabbits have contributed to leading hundreds of native species on the verge of extinction, and if there hasn't been human intervention there is a very high chance that a lot of native species would have been already extinct.

A. Convicts

The reason why convicts is the correct answer is because people were at first sent to Australia with the sole reason of serving their sentence there. For that reason, a great proportion of people at the time were simply convicts.

How many provinces are completely or partially included between 50 N. and 60 N. latitude
Andreas93 [3]

There are seven provinces that are either entirely or partially located between 50 N and 60 N.

Explanation:

Canada is a vast country, in fact it is the second largest in the world. The country is located on high latitude, and more than half of its mainland territory is between the latitudes of 50 N and 60 N. The provinces are very large, and each of them is larger than big portion of the countries in the world. In the southern half of the country, the provinces tend to be arranged in an east to west manner, kind of by longitude.

  • There are ten provinces in Canada.
  • Seven out of the ten provinces are entirely or partially between the latitudes of 50 N and 60 N.
  • The provinces located between these latitudes are Newfoundland, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.
  • The three other provinces, Nunavut, North West Territory, and Yukon Territory, are located further north, mostly between 60 N and 70 N.
