C.
The nonnative species would not affect biodiversity because it's unlikely the species would survive.

Answer:

a. The nonnative species would decrease biodiversity.

Explanation:

The non-native species are mostly invasive in nature and serve to reduce the biodiversity of the system by becoming a threat to the survival of the native species.

Non-native species do not have any predators or competitors in the new ecosystem and hence, are better able to exploit the available resources. The native species face scarcity of resources and their population size reduces.

Example: Water hyacinth

Explain how the environment play a role in changing the frequency of a mutant allele in a poplution
tiny-mole [99]

Answer:

The environment plays a role in a mutant allele in a population because some mutations are more beneficial to the organism than other mutations.

Explanation:

Organisms with a beneficial allele mutation will be able to pass on their genes as they reproduce. The mutation makes them fit for survival in their environment. Other organisms without the beneficial allele won't be able to pass on their genes since it will be more difficult for them to survive in their environment. Natural selection will deem that the organisms with the mutation will survive better and be able to produce offspring with the same mutation.

Which part of the cell is selectively permeable? Why does it say so?
tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

cellular membranes

Explanation:

Cellular membranes are selectively permeable because they allow only certain molecules to cross into and out of the cell. The phospholipid bilayer is a selectively permeable membrane that surrounds all biological cells. The movement of molecules across the cell membrane bilayer can occur by passive transport (does not require energy) or active transport (requires energy). For example, water molecules pass passively through the cell membrane (passive transport), while other molecules pass through transmembrane proteins against a concentration gradient (active transport).
