Is the following graph a function
daser333 [38]
You can use the vertical line test to determine if the graph is a function.

A function must: for every x value have only one y value.

Vertical line test: if you draw a bunch of vertical lines each line only touches the graph once.

So a circle would not be a function, or a horizontally facing parabola, etc... Remember, if you draw a vertical line "|" and it touches the graph more than once at any point then it is not a function.

Now take a look at the graph in the question.
In this graph if we do the vertical line test there are no place where a vertical line touches the graph twice so this graph is indeed a function.

This means your answer is C. Yes

If a coin has been altered so that the probability of heads coming up is 3/10, then the probability of tails coming up is also 3
soldier1979 [14.2K]
False. In a coin, there are 2 possible out comes i.e. a head and a tail. if p is the probability of one side coming up, then the probability of the other side comin up will be q = 1 - p.

Therefore, if the probability of head coming up is 3/10, the probability of tail coming up will be 1 - 3/10 = 7/10.

Clare earned a total of $12 for 2 hours of yard work. How many hours in all will it take Clare
Luba_88 [7]

Answer:

3 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

$12 = 2hours

Find how much Clare was paid for one hour

Total money earned ÷ number of hours = wage per hour

12 ÷ 2 = $6 per hour

set up equation

6x = 18

This equation says 6 dollars an hour × number of hours = $18

To solve for this equation, divide both sides by 6 (this isolates the variable)

6x ÷ 6 = 18 ÷ 6

1x = 3

x = 3
