Because you need to not only match the highest record you need to go above the highest record so x has to be greater than 0.09 so that's why purple is basically saying x is greater than 1.57 minus 1.48 which is what she jumped but they're asking how much more does she need to jump to beat the record so you just minus 1.57 by 1.48 which gets you 0.09 but it needs to be greater than that so that's why it's purple
