Consider the diagram. mc006-1.jpg Which postulate of the kinetic-molecular theory best describes the event in the diagram? Most

of the volume of a gas is empty space. All collisions between particles are perfectly elastic. There is no force of attraction or repulsion between gas particles. The average kinetic energy of particles depends only on temperature.

I found the exercise on the internet. Attached is a pic of the diagram.
Correct answer:
"All collisions between particles are perfectly elastic."
This is called elastic collision. Elastic collision is the encounter between two molecules where the total kinetic energy of the molecules before the encounter is equal to their total kinetic energy after. The perfectly elastic collision it only happens, though, when the kinetic energy is not transformed into other forms of energy.

Describe and explain the changes in electrical activity both in receptor and in the sensory neurone as increasing pressure is ap
blsea [12.9K]
Pacinian corpuscles are rapidly adapting mechanoreceptors so they respond only at the onset and offset of the stimulus. The Pacinian corpuscle has a single afferent nerve fiber. Its end is covered by a sensitive receptor membrane whose sodium channels will open when the membrane is deformed in any way. Pressure thus causes sodium to enter the neuron and create a generator potential. If this potential reaches a certain threshold nerve impulses are formed. This impulse is now transferred along the axon with the use of sodium channels and sodium/potassium pumps in the axon membrane. The magnitude of the stimulus is encoded in the frequency of impulses generated in the neuron. So the more massive or rapid the deformation of a single corpuscle, the higher the frequency of nerve impulses generated in its neuron.

Is the matter we take in when we eat only used for cellular respiration?

Answer: Food is your body's only supply of energy. However, this energy must be converted from the apple (or any other food you eat) into an energy source that your body can use. The process of getting energy from your food is called cellular respiration.

For humans, freckles and broad noses are dominant to no freckles and narrow noses. Use the pinned square below to determine the
Gekata [30.6K]

If we name the gene for freckles with F, then the genotypes for having freckles are Ff (heterozygous), FF (dominant homozygous) and for no freckles ff (recessive homozygous).

If we name the gene for nose shape with N, than the genotypes for broad noses are NN (dominant homozygous) and Nn (heterozygous) and for narrow noses nn (recessive homozygous). A cross between two heterozygous:

P: FfNn x FfNn

F1:

9/16 are with freckles and broad noses

3/16 are with freckles and narrow noses

3/16 are with no freckles and broad noses

1/16 are with no freckles and narrow noses.
