No. The area of a triangle is Base*Height/2 so if both base and height increased by 50%, the area would equal (Base*1.5)*(Height*1.5)/2, which is 2.25 bigger than the original triangle, not 1.5 times bigger(50% more)

Suppose that A = PDP-1 . Prove that det(A) = det(D)
daser333 [38]

Answer:

Check.

Step-by-step explanation:

To prove it we need to know that  for two matrices A and B we have that:

det(AB) = det(A)*det(B) and det(A^{-1}) = \frac{1}{det(A)}. Now:

A = PDP^{-1}

det(A) = det(PDP^{-1})

det(A) = det(P)*det(D)*det(P^{-1})

det(A) = det(P)*det(D)*\frac{1}{det(P)}

det(A) = det(P)*\frac{1}{det(P)}*det(D)

det(A) = det(D).

Answer:

dependent variable: circles drawn

independent: time

the independent variable is what you control, which was the time spent. the amount of circles you were able to draw <em>depended</em> on the amount of time you had, so it was the dependent variable.
