How do the different values of h,k,and r change the graphs of the circles?

Mathematics

Answer:

See Below

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard form of an equation of a circle is:

(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2

and

(h,k) is the center

r is the radius

Changing the values of h and k changes the location of the center of the circle. Changing the value of r changes the radius and hence the "size" of the circle. Very simple!

So, basically changing h and k translates the circle elsewhere and changing r transforms (make larger or smaller) the circle!

PLEASEEEEE HELP MEEEEEE
sasho [114]

Answer:

1. VW = 22

2. x = 87

Step-by-step explanation:

Question 1:

SU = 11 (given)

SU = ½(VW) => midsegment theorem

11 = ½(VW) => Substitution

Multiply both sides by 2

2*11 = VW

VW = 22

Question 2:

UV = x + 13

RT = x - 37

RT = ½(UV) => Midsegment Theorem

x - 37 = ½(x + 13) => Substitution

Multiply both sides by 2

2(x - 37) = x + 13

2x - 74 = x + 13

2x - 74 + 74 = x + 13 + 74

2x = x + 87

2x - x = x + 87 - x

x = 87

If p(x)=2x^2-4x and q(x)=x-3 what is (p*q)(x)
Tanya [424]

Answer: 2x³-10x²+12x or 2x(x²-5x+6)

Step-by-step explanation:

(p*q)(x) means p(x) and q(x) multiplied together.

(2x²-4x)(x-3)

2x³-6x²-4x²+12x

2x³-10x²+12x

You can also factor this by taking out a 2x.

2x(x²-5x+6)
