okay so it really easy. EX: 6x + 4x^2 - 2x + 3x^2 - 7x^5

So basically 6x - 2x because both of them have x and are raised to the power of 1. While  4x^2 + 3x^2 go together because they are both raised to the 2nd power. While -7x^5 doesn't go with any terms because no terms are raised to the 5th power.

Step 2: Combine the coefficients.

5h + 11g + 1h - 8g.

(5 + 1)h + (11 - 8)g.

6h + 3g.

Step 1: Organize your like terms.

5x + 8x + 10x2 - 7x2 - 4x.

here is an example

If f(x) = –5x – 4 and g(x) = –3x – 2, find (f – g)(x).
erica [24]

Answer:

  C.  (f – g)(x) = –2x – 2

Step-by-step explanation:

(f – g)(x) = f(x) – g(x)

  = (–5x – 4) – (–3x – 2)

  = –2x – 2

What is the length of side BC? Round the answer to the nearest tenth.
Nostrana [21]

Answer:

The length of side BC is 2.8 units

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets revise how to find the distance between two points

- If there are two points their coordinates are (x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2),

 then we can find the distance between them by this rule:

 d = √[(x2 - x1)² + (y2 - y1)²]

- Now lets solve the problem

∵ B = (3 , 3)

∵ C = (5 , 1)

- To find the length of BC use the rule of the distance above

- Let point B is (x1 , y1) and point C is (x2 , y2)

∵ x1 = 3 and x2 = 5

∵ y1 = 3 and y2 = 1

∴ BC = √[(5 - 3)² + (1 - 3)²]

∴ BC = √[(2)² + (-2)²]

∴ BC = √[4 + 4] = √8 = 2.8 units

* The length of side BC is 2.8 units

Complete the proof by providing the missing statement and reasons
Lisa [10]

Answer:

In triangle SHD and triangle STD.

\overline{SD} \perp \overline{HT}          [Side]

Since, a line is said to be perpendicular to another line if the two lines intersect at a right angle.

⇒ \angle SDH = \angle SDT = 90^{\circ}

\overline{SH} \cong \overline{ST}       [leg]               [Given]

Reflexive property states that the value is equal to itself.

\overline{SD} \cong \overline{SD}       [Leg]       [Reflexive property]

HL(Hypotenuse-leg) theorem states that any two right triangles that have a congruent hypotenuse and a corresponding congruent leg are the congruent triangles.

then, by HL theorem;

\triangle SHD \cong \triangle STD                       Proved!

Marta_Voda [28]

Answer:

y=-4x-4

Step-by-step explanation:

y-y1=m(x-x1)

y-(-28)=-4(x-6)

y+28=-4(x-6)

y=-4x+24-28

y=-4x-4
