Tom has just received a new job offer. He is told that his starting salary will be 75,000.00 per year. He is also told that his

salary will probably be 83,000.00 in four year. 1. Use the data given to find the rate of change, or the salary increase per year. (HINT;compute the slope) 2. We are now going to use a line to model Tom's Salary growth. Use the Data giving and the slope value from step 1 to write the slope intercept form of the line. 3. Based on your equation from step 2 what will Tom salary be in ten years?

Arthur has decided to start saving for a new computer. His money is currently in a piggy bank at home, modeled by the function s
Leya [2.2K]

Two or more independent functions (say f(x) and g(x)) can be combined to generate a new function (say g(x)) using any of the following approach.

h(x) = f(x) + g(x)         h(x) = f(x) - g(x)

h(x) = \frac{f(x)}{g(x)}                   h(x) = f(g(x))

And many more.

The approach or formula to use depends on the question.

In this case, the combined function is:

f(x) = 75+ 10x

The savings function is given as

s(x) = 85

The allowance function is given as:

a(x) = 10(x - 1)

The new function that combined his savings and his allowances is calculated as:

f(x) = s(x) + a(x)

Substitute values for s(x) and a(x)

f(x) = 85 + 10(x - 1)

Open bracket

f(x) = 85 + 10x - 10

Collect like terms

f(x) = 85 - 10+ 10x

f(x) = 75+ 10x

3. What is the value of x in the figure<br> below?
olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer:

3 = 14 and 4 = 8

Step-by-step explanation:

The reason as to why this is, is because of the line going down the middle. If you were to open one of the lengths as a door starting from the middle line it would fit perfectly with the top one.

Hello there! :D

So, if the surface area is 6s^2

Plug in the larger box.

6*6^2
6*36= 216

Surface area of larger box= 216

Smaller box:

6*3^2
6*9
54 <=== smaller box surface area

Now, divide the larger surface area by the smaller.

216/54= 4

It is four times larger than the smaller box.

I hope this helps!
