If a 10 year old child is diagnosed with acute glomerulonephritis and admitted to the pediatric unit, the nurse should TAKE THE VITAL SIGNS EVERY 4 HOURS AND OBTAIN THE DAILY WEIGHT OF THE CHILD.
Glomerulonephritis is a disease of kidney where the glomeruli are injured. It is very important to take measure the vital signs such as taking blood pressure of the child because in this disease acute renal failure might occur that hampers the vital functions of the body. Weighing the child everyday is also important because this helps to know the fluid status in the body.
Answer:
1. Individuals in a species vary in characteristics because of differences in their genes.
Individuals will be born with various characteristics due to their genes for instance some people are short and other are tall.
2. Individuals have to compete when resources (such as food) are limited.
Resources are generally limited so individuals would have to compete t get those resources and survive.
3. Individuals with variations that help them get more of the resources are more likely to survive.
Some of the characteristics that these individuals have which are different will give them an edge and enable them to get more resources and thus survive.
4. Individuals that survive can pass their genetic variations on to their offspring.
The individuals that survive will now have offspring and will pass on their genes to their offspring which give give them the same edge their parents had.
5. Over time, there are more individuals with the variations that are well adapted to the environment.
Eventually there will be more of those offspring that can adapt as opposed to those who couldn't and keep dying out.
When two plates converge, what happens depends on the types of lithosphere that meet. The three possibilities are oceanic crust to oceanic crust, oceanic crust to continental crust, or continental crust to continental crust. If at least one of the slabs of lithosphere is oceanic, that oceanic plate will plunge into the trench and back into the mantle. The meeting of two enormous slabs of lithosphere and subduction of one results in magma generation and earthquakes. If both plates meet with continental crust, there will be mountain building. Each of the three possibilities is discussed in a different concept. https://www.ck12.org/earth-science/ocean-continent-convergent-plate-boundaries/lesson/Ocean-Continen...
