2. Establish Justice
3. TO Ensure Domestic Tranquillity
4. To Provide for the Common Defense
5. To Promote General Welfare

This preamble explains why our Government became a republic. Along with the rest of the Constitution, It was written for about 6 weeks. This is also the reason why the founding father replaced the Articles of Confederation.</span></span>
