When the pilgrims landed at Provincetown harbor, they were attacked by Native Americans, about which they later learned that a group of Native Americans was captured by the English Explorer Thomas Hunt and sold into slavery. “Squanto”, who was a Native American was in that group of slaves.

<span>The attack actually was a kind of retaliation by the Native Americans for the act of Thomas Hunt. </span>
