What number must you add to complete the square x^2+2x=13
Sveta_85 [38]
You must halve the linear coefficient and then square it.   In this case:

(2/2)^2=1 so you must add 1 to both sides of the equation...

x^2+2x+1=14 now the left side is a perfect square...

(x+1)^2=14

I really need help with this please ! I don't understand it, and I have a quiz tomorrow
erik [133]
You can do this by finding a number close to it, and then finding out how to do it.

For example with 63(square root sign), find out what is close to it.

7x7=49 while 8x8=64

Because of this, we now know that it is between 7 and 8 but is also really close to 8.

Our number could be 7.9

Hope this helped!!!

I need help please i struggle on these questions
-Dominant- [34]

Answer:

1. AB is a diameter. (False)

2. ST, SP and SQ are radii. (True)

3. SQ = 12 cm. (False)

4. PQ is 12 cm. (True)

Step-by-step explanation:

1. AB is not a diameter because a diameter must pass through the center of the circle.

2. ST, SP and SQ are radii because they all meet at the center of the circle.

3. SQ is not equal to 12 cm. SQ is equal to 6 cm because it is a radius.

4. PQ is equal to 12 cm because it is a diameter. Radius = 6 cm. Diameter = 2 × radius = 2 × 6 cm = 12 cm
