Even experienced citizens need legal support.

The legal process is complicated.

Citizens are more likely to be convicted without counsel.

Explanation:

In his objection in Adamson v. California, Justice Hugo Lafayette Black first widely developed his hypothesis that the fourteenth the amendment was designed by its framers to implement the provisions of the Bill of Rights to the states. Justice Black analyzed the Adamson dissents his most notable opinion, even after his last term on the Supreme Court. Certainly, the theory of total incorporation, which he developed both in Adamson and in later cases, was among his most provocative constitutional stances.
