What I know about how to adopt to a situation like this is when you are in a very crowded area. There is a chance to get something stolen from you if there are pickpockets in your vicinity. Like for example in a jacket that is tightly secured to your body, a theft proof back pack, or you could make it harder for the pickpockets to reach your items, by keeping them in your shoes(like boots). In this article that you should always be aware if the possibilities that you could robbed without knowing you lost anything, and even when you feel you are in a comfortable environment you should keep your belongings in check.
